player chronicles

I think a nice journal would suit the mood if you want an actual gift.
Looking for ideas an easy method is just to go on ebay, catagory books, then blank diaries and journals.
A quick search in that section (for example: dragon or Celtic) should give you lots of varied options.

For what it is worth, I was disappointed with both Epic Words and Obsidian Portal. Despite being willing to pay for either, there were just too many restrictions, most notably on amount of maps.

I ended up using blogger, which surprisingly covers my needs quicker and better. /shrug

Epic Words and Obsidian Portal both look pretty interesting - I'll have to check those out for myself.

My player, on the other hand, prefers hand-written notes, especially since at the beginning we do a recap of the past adventure & we don't have laptops at the table. I'm thinking a nice journal will do the trick... I guess giving it a D&D format isn't that important.

Another question:

If I appoint one player as the NPC Manager (takes over companion/henchmen NPCs, keeps notes on allied NPCs, helps me with tracking/rolls for large-scale battle), what sort of gift would be good for them?

Thanks for the feedback! :)
