Player oriented magazine subscriptions?

So, most likely I am going to buy the 3.5 Core Rule Gift Set next weekend. As I don't want to dump too much money into the game before 4.0 comes out I think I'd like a magzine subscription for broader choices. Whats available and which of these are good?

Hahahahaha.

I'll assume you're serious, just a little out of the loop. The big magazine you would have wanted, Dragon, is no longer published in print. WotC withdrew the license to produce it from its previous publisher, Paizo. Now WotC puts out some Dragon articles on their website.

I don't actually know of any current gaming magazine. I actually helped create one that was player oriented, but it never took off.

Edit: I laugh because of how sad it is that Dragon was canceled.

Wolfgang Baur has a new magazine (available PDF or PDF+print) called Kobold Quarterly, which has been good so far. Info available here. It's just quarterly so far, but may go to bi-monthly eventually. Subscriptions are inexpensive, too.

I am unable to use paypal. Is there another way to send in subscription payments?

Good question. If you have a credit card but can't use paypal, you can pick up individual issues at Paizo publishing (paizo.com), or else you can ask by emailing koboldquarterly at gmail dot com. Or maybe Wolfgang will show up around here himself and let you know. ;)

PDF subscriptions are inexpensive. Print subscriptions are another matter (not surprising given the economies of scale).

The quality is very strong, though.

Sure, check or money order for to Kobold Quarterly, PO Box 2811, Kirkland, WA 98083.

Please include your name and address for a print+PDF subscription, and an email address for a PDF subscription. Thanks for your interest!

Oh, and just in case it isn't obvious to you Kida, Monkey King is Wolfgang Baur (i.e. the guy who publishes Kobold Quarterly). I only mention this because he doesn't have his name in his sig.
