1. Is there any benefit, mechanically or mentally for sticking to 20 levels of a class?

yes, but it really depends on the class. Most high level abilities of the classes can't be gotteen any other way.

2. Which are your favorite to stick to for 20 levels?p

Bard, its the only one I took from 1st to 20th, though I have had other straight classes that would have gone that high if the campaign went that long.

3. Have you ever ran a group, or played in a group of purists?

So far only one of my 5 players has taken a prestige class, though another might be soon. THe other three I don't think are going to.
