It's just has a certain result since rolling happens when outcomes are in doubt and at no other time. That's how I run my game. I'm not into punishing players and would never do that. I'm not their parent.</p><p></p><p>It's not "legal" to roll without the DM asking. No rule allows it. You can house rule it in, like with your lasso example, but the DM is the one who calls for rolls. Players don't get to just roll first by RAW.</p></blockquote><p></p>
