I've had a dedicated game room in my basement for a couple decades, but I'm really starting to prefer playing at the game stores in my area.

Where do you game?

I have a dedicated game room, but its for gaming in general. So, board games, fantasy football drafts, poker, etc.. can happen there. Its not TTRPG specific.

I have gamed at stores, and would again, but usually only one shots or organized play. I dont like how public and noisy they can get.

Since Covid, about 80% of my gaming has been VTT. I was reluctant because roll20 is not great, but Foundry won me over.

I miss running games in person from my home, but my work and travel schedule mean that the only way I could keep the campaign going was with a VTT.

I occasionally ran games at my FLGS, but I don't enjoy it. I always feel like I'm about to lose my voice by the end of the session. Too noisy. They now have private rooms you can rent, but I it doesn't make much sense when I have a house.

I have a game room as well and we do most of the gaming there.

I'm not the biggest fan of gaming in stores since generally that tends to happen with people you don't know as well in a semi-public setting.

Only one game meets in person. That's in one of the player's living rooms, so "residential, non-dedicated". The others are all online.

One pair of my players live in an apartment complex with a great "clubhouse" for resident usage. We played multiple campaigns there. Since it's part of their apartment costs I still considered that "Residential" and didn't check "other".

One DM is looking to run at his law office after hours, but that never came together.

This is my issue. I have a dedicated game room or I can go to a game store where they charge THE DM_ to run in their store. Really? You charge the DM?
Honestly the sole reason I play at game stores is to troll for potential players for replacement or new game groups that I'll run for at my house.
VTT is always an option, but it's truly the least favorable for me. Some people love VTT. For me it is simply a necessary option if I want to play specialty games.

I live in the Candian Arctic, so as you'd imagine there's not a lot of live play available, so I'm 100% online these days, aside from the occasional game wih my kids.
