Playstation like controller for PC?

You can buy a cheap USB adapter that lets you use an actual PS2 controller. I've had one for years, and it's great.

My Saitek P880 does a very good imitation of a PS controller. It's got a hat switch, two analog sticks, six buttons and two triggers; that's about halfway between a PS1 and a PS2 controller. There's got to be cheap sticks with more than that out by now, as this is a moderately old controller that I don't think was top-of-the-line even when I bought it.

This is what I use and it seems fine.

I use this controller as well. I don't use it for many games (in fact, I think the only games I used it for were the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time games) but it works well. I find most PC games work best with mouse and keyboard unless they're ports of games that originally were on consoles.

IME PC peripheral control pads have control quality below even cheap 3rd party controllers for video game consoles. I was very happy the day i found out the 360 USB controller was plug & play for PCs.
