Please help me find the book from this cover description

Please help! Hopefully one of you will recognize this description and be able to tell me the title of the book.

The cover picture has a mirror polished android standing on a path/road through a sparse wilderness... there might be a city in the distance behind it. The robot/android's body is covered with mirror finished plates that reflect it's surroundings and there are gaps in the plates which show cog works and wires.

I'm pretty sure the book is sci-fi but not entirely- it might be about a robot who is somehow in a fantasy setting. Although I can't be sure because I haven't read it- I've just seen this cover dozens of times in various bookstores throughout my life. So I know it's been around for a quite a while.

I wish I could provide a better description but that's all I can remember. If I could see it more clearly in my head I'd probably also be able to see the title. I hope somebody recognizes it because it's driving me crazy. Plus I need the picture for an advanced warforged wizard in my D&D game.

I'm pretty sure that I know what image you're talking about (though can't remember the book, either), in which case, it's not this, this, or this. But hey, they're kinda similar. The first one is the one that most closely reminds me of what I have in my head, but I don't think it's right.

You are correct- those are not the droids I'm looking for. Robots of Dawn is vaguely similar, but I'm pretty sure it's not an Asimov book at all (If that helps anyone else who's trying to figure this out).

Too late. I swear, I think I've seen that one you mean, too. But I don't know it is. I thought maybe a Clifford Simak novel, many of his have rather mechanical robots as characters in them. But looking over covers,

I know it's not right, but this is my favorite Simak robot cover.

The art style in my head is similar to Michael Whelan, but that hasn't helped with the searches.
