Please help with Paladin / Outcast Champion build

Zaruthustran

The tingling means it’s working!
My buddies and I started a new campaign with an "anything goes" character creation policy. I created a Ghaele Eladrin from Savage Species, and by 7th level it was apparent that there were balance issues. Incorporeal, perfect fly, crazy spells 1/day, unlimited healing, cast as 7th level cleric, DR, SR... it was bad.

So I'm re-creating the character using more normal rules. The device is that a prismatic spray sent the Eladrin to another plane, and the character's god--Tritherion--can't send him back as an Eladrin. So he's sending him back as an Aasimar. I figured Paladin of Freedom (from Unearthed Arcana)/ Outcast Champion (from Races of Destiny) best fits the concept of a heroic, freedom-championing hero. We're hand-waving the "half-x" requirement for the PRC.

Thing is, it's been a long time since I've built a paladin type. I could really use some help with stats (28 point buy), levels, and feats. All WotC books are available, including Exalted Deeds (previous build had exalted feats).

Oh! Party role is support/melee. Other party members are human wizard, halfling ranger, half-orc rogue/barbarian.

Thank you!

Does it have to be your answer to everything ? Seriously, though, I second that. You might also take a look at battle blessing (complete champion), because casting standard action spells as swift actions can be sweet...

What about anointed knight? Could be pretty cool:

Paladin of Freedom 4 for Divine Grace, Aura of Resolve, Detect Evil, Lay on Hands, Smite Evil 1/day, Divine Health, 0 1st level spells, and Turn Undead 3 + Cha mod/day.
Cleric 1 for more turn attempts (another 3 + Cha mod), 2 1st level spells, and two domains (Wrath and War domains)
Outcast Champion 2
Anointed Knight 1

My question is: is the anointed knight a good class?

It wouldn't be my choice for every paladin, but for most... especially since paladins have so few feats. Usually every player wants one or two other feats urgently, so these three are all he has left to choose.

A sword & board paladin may be well interested in the shield feats in PHB2 but then he can't take many other feats... and the three above work so well together with Smite Evil.
