If you have a nice DM, this feat could be more useful for training followers. Imagine a line of fifty warriors who get to attack first when their opponents charge. This is far more likely in mass combat, as you have to charge or get eaten up by indescrimanate arrow fire.

Give them long spears, and they get the AoO no matter what, for the first wave atleast.

So after 35 votes we have an average of 4.89.

1. Expert Tactician 7.86
2. Close-Quarters Fighting 5.42
3. Hold the Line 4.89
4. Blindsight, 5-foot radius 4.80
5. Fists of Iron 4.65
6. Death Blow 4.36
7. Feign Weakness 3.63
8. Extra Stunning Attacks 3.56
9. Dual Strike 3.43
10. Circle Kick 3.13
11. Eyes in the Back of Your Head 3.04
12. Eagle Claw Attack 2.73
13. Dirty Fighting 2.58

So, should it be the 3rd best in the list?

Hmm... I think 5' Blindfight is a far superior feat, it's downside is one prereq is a 19 Wis which puts it completely out of reach of most characters.

I think this list is fairly accurate. Note that feats that are not useful at high levels get rated poorly. For the most part this list approximates how often a feat gets used. Expert Tact is not terribly difficult to set up and is powerful as well. Monsters often have Improved Grab at higher levels so CQF is great for frontliners.

Hold the Line should be 4th or 5th in my book. HtL and FoI are very comparable IMHO.
