Zen Archery [General]
REQ: Base Attack bonus +3, Wis 13+
The character can use her Wisdom modifier instead of her Dexterity modifier when making a ranged attack at a targe within 30 feet. Sword and Fist, pg 9.

The "within 30 feet" clause means that it's going to be kicking in the same time Point Blank Shot does, which makes it less important (archer's rarely miss anyway). Also, your wisdom score would have to be significantly higher than your dex score to make it worthwhile (and I haven't met too many archers with low enough dex to make it matter). Nice for monks, I guess, but they're so short on feats that I don't know if I would consider this one useful enough to take.

It's OK for an elf monk who uses a bow or a cleric archer who has an extra feat to throw around.

Where it really shines is when an OotBI takes it but then it's rather dramatically changed. (Giving that too much weight would be like saying Improved Critical is a superlative feat because of what Weapon Master does for it).

On the whole, it's not a very impressive feat.

I could see it for a monk. Basically with this feat, monks really don't need much in the way of dex except for reflex saves, and they eventually get improved evasion anyway.

While often at 30 ft, a monk would rather go tuffle in melee, there are times when it would be good to hang back and shoot, especially against DR, GMW is a lot easier to come by the GMF:)

For a monk who wants to go the archer route, I think its a preety good feat. Otherwise, I wouldn't take it.

Still, Monks with a high Dex score can get really hideous AC scores...

I personally think it works best if you want to play a armored Cleric archer. You can use dexterity as 'dump' stat. Nothing like a cleric with Mithril Full Plate and an Animated Shield. Not to mention pumping everything in wisdom helps your spellcasting.

For OotBI this feat is a no brainer - you must take it (cos it stacks with your dex bonus). Then just blast through as many itterative attacks as you can. If your not not realy going to want to take this feat.. unless you are an archer with a low dex and high wis (but with such a low dex why are you an archer) Its a cool feat - fits with RPG ideas nicley but is not realy so powerful
