Pleaz your ideas for this devious spell

Regeneration isn't healing, per se. It is a special ability that allows a creature to treat normal HP damage as subdual and then cure the subdual. Since the caster would not gain the benefit of the HP being subdual, there would be no healing.

Dispel magic does not end the spell, it only supresses it. There are precidents for spells being immune to dispelling (wall of force for example).

A troll immune to fire and acid would be tough to kill, except by starving it.

well, your version of the spell is 7th level. So its not unreasonable that a caster could slap a limited wish on the maggot and send the troll back into the wild.

Okay, so regeneration wouldn't affect it. Suppose you bond yourself to a cohort in the homebase with a warehouse full of healing potions. Could this guy drink a potion whenever he felt inexplicable pain and bodily injury and heal the wizard?

(None of my games would ever work out like that... but its good to know the loopholes anyway.)

Fateworm
Transmutation
Level: Wiz/Sor7
Components: V, S, M, F
Casting Time: 1 hour
Range: Touch
Target: 1 maggot
Duration: Permanent
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: Yes

This spell alters an ordinary maggot to become a vessel for a unidirectional fate link that can be inflicted upon a creature by introduction into a living creature.

The fateworm must be held to the victims ear, allowing it to crawl in and nest itself magically in the victim's brain. This can only be done when the victim is willing, sleeping, held, dominated, etc and requires one full round. If the victim of the fateworm is the recipent of a remove disease spell, then the fateworm is killed (see below).

This spell creates a link between the caster of the spell and the recipient, any physical damage or healing that happens to the caster happens also to the host of the fateworm. Only a wish or limited wish can free a victim from a fateworm, although a dispel magic targeted on the fateworm within the victim will supress the magic. A Mordenkainen's Disjunction has a chance to disenchant (and kill) the fateworm.

The live maggot that is enchanted at the casting of the spell must be used within 24 hours or it dies. If (for any reason) the fateworm is killed, the caster must make a fortitude save (DC 19) or die. Even if the save is successful, the caster permanently loses 2 points of constitution. The only way to end a fateworm without suffering a risk of death is to kill the victim.

The focus of this spell is a live maggot; the material compentents are a drop of blood from a twin creature, and 5,000 gp worth of speical chemicals.

So far I like what you are suggesting.
I like the part of the dispel magic, where they can for example turn off the Fatelink for 1d4+1 rounds or something (if they ever find out about it).
Wat about the 'see below' part for the remove disease?
Further, maybe add some things like the following (I know, the description will become horribly long, but alas):
If the victim suffers an instant-kill effect (disintegration, crushed by ceiling, suicide, etc) the caster must save vs Fortitude DC 19 or die.

Whenever a magical attempt is done to remove the worm other then by Wish/Miracle, the worm deals 1d12 x 10 points of damage to the victim (no save) and the victim must make a FORT save vs dc 19 or lose one point of permanent INT. Even if the victim makes this safe, he is still stunned for 2d4 rounds. A wish/Miracle just kills the worm and leaves the victim with no more than a faint headache.

And yes, I would allow a slave/minion to be somewhere else and drink potions of healing/be cured. However, you'd have to have one hell of a minion if he were to survive the damage that is being dealt out at the higher level, 60-100 HP's per round is not uncommon when the fight really gets going.....

Also, I know the spell is rather powerful, but compared to others of levels 8 or 9 it is fair I think, especially considering the fact that I already must have had the players held/defeated so they might have been killed already by the time I do this nasty-ness on them... ;)
