Plots and Places combined with General

First Post
At first I was shocked at this idea.

Then I thought about it.

How much of General really qualifies as Plots, Places, and Rat-Bastardly Brainstorming? A lot, really.

In fact, a huge number of the threads in General could have been posted in PPRBB with nobody batting an eye.

And now that OT has been separated, there's more room in General.

And topics in General get more views than topics in PPRBB.

So, after an initial "Don't mess with the system, man!" I decided this is probably a wise move after all. One fewer forum to forget to browse.

Carry on with my blessing! (like it affects the decision any :P)

We mods got to thinking about it, and realized that the concepts of "plots and places" are really the soul of General RPG discussion, just like rules clarification and manipulation are the soul of the Rules forum. In my opinion, it gets kind of hard to justify a forum that gets usually about 8 to 10 threads every two days, especially since once you take out Plots and Places, and Off-topic chat, you are left with discussion of non-d20 systems and discussion of RPG news topics, and that's pretty meager fare to me.

Same thought with the d20 forum. A lot fewer people are playing active d20 Modern games right now than this time last year, so the chat is lower. Plus, with these handy sortable tags, we can put a lot more stuff in the "Standalone d20" Forum than we used to. :)

So we'll see how it goes.

That reminds me... I sure don't see a "d20 modern" tag in our message icons... I'll tell Morrus & Morris about that, too...

For what it's worth I like the changes. Plots and Places deserves far more attention, and that sort of thing really is the life blood of this place anyway.
