Adventurer
It was crazy. In short, they met a druid who told them that an imprisoned avatar was held inside the canyon, so they spent about an hour figuring out how to bust in. They'd followed some Slaad in, and watched them get drug away by about 50 spiders.
They carved a path through to the cave where the avatar was, and buffed up like mad, and ran to the mouth of the cave, where they cleaved their way through the entrance with fire-magic, and once inside, blocked themselves in with a wall of force. Inside, they fought 4 large spiders which proved to be little trouble, and then the big bad spider went down after a few rounds, and only managed to hit one of the party members with his bite, who then succeeded on the poison save.
The sorcerer did a detect magic to locate the avatar and he found them, and prompted became blind.
The cleric dug him out, and in the process, the sorcerer had to renew his wall of force, because the previous one expired. The druid waited for it to drop, recast a new wall of fire to cleanse the pathway again (which was now crawling with spiders), and the sorcerer cast a new wall of force.
And that's where we left it at 1:30 am. Next week, I'm going to hit them with my Advanced Non-Euclidian Phase Spiders and we'll see how they do.
Prior to that, they walked through an encounter with a bunch of Slaad like they were CR 1 orcs. I'm really struggling with trying to challenge this party! But it was pretty fun, nonetheless.
