By those standards, it would seem my tastes are boringly conventional. I'm okay with that.

I'm also okay with it if Pluribus doesn't end up catering to my tastes. I'd be disappointed, but I wouldn't advocate that it end after one season just because its later seasons don't appeal to me, specifically.

We just watched the first episode and really liked it, but at the end my son commented that it felt like a Twilight Zone episode. Which left us wondering the same as most of you, it seems: how do you turn this premise into a full series?

The whole point of Pluribus is to tell a different type of story. If it has to resort to conventional tropes to extend its run it will have failed in its reason for existing.

I'm still hoping I get to see Vince Gilligan's take on a conventional alien invasion story, since he's so good at turning conventional stories into prestige television.

Breaking Bad is a conventional crime drama with a Vince Gilligan twist, and Better Call Saul is a conventional legal drama with a Vince Gilligan twist. Based on that (and the fact the Vince Gilligan wrote for the X Files), I'd really like to see a conventional alien invasion story with a Vince Gilligan twist.

Because let's be honest, there's never been a series that does for conventional alien invasion narratives what Breaking Bad did for conventional crime drama.

Those of us who are infected with the virus have already been spoiled on the whole four-season arc. If I weren't in a constant state of bliss this would be a real bummer.
