PNP tools - DND - projector help please

I am having a hard time searching this site. I am looking for a thread or two someone claims they saw, wherein the topic of projectors overhead or digital are used for mapping out dungeons. As a DM I have been trying to create such a tool and would love tips, advice on a DIY that worked and even some stories on ones that didn't, so I can hopefully avoid the pitfalls and save some money.

Thank you so much! I am still hoping to find a method using a glass/plastic table with a projector beneath using transparancies, but this is one option I looked at. The DPs are a little pricey for me and I don't have a laptop. Still, it's something to work with.

The challenge with undermounting is the throw distance of the projector - the further away you can get the projector, the larger the image, and therefore hanging it above is generally better than below. Its also more out of the way if mounted above. You can combat the throw distance problem with mirrors (which add a space requirement) or with wide angle lenses (which are considerably more expensive than a standard lens).
