This week on the podcast we discuss The Demon God's Fane, a Sword and Sorcery adventure by Monte Cook.

Touted an adventure that illustrates how high level play can still be challenging, this module sets the adventures on the trail of a murderer and ultimately into the bowels of the long sealed temple of a Demon prince. While maybe not living up to the high bar that it sets for itself, The Demon God's Fane still has a lot to offer. The most compelling tidbit involves what amounts to disease that causes demonic possession, which if presented correctly, should provide the main incentive for the PCs to seek out the Fane in the first place. The whole thing culminates in some magical time-travel shenanigans, which provides the PCs with the option of putting an end to the modern day threat before it even begins, which kicks off a giant paradox that you're free to ignore or lean into, depending on whim. Anywho, have a listen for our more detailed discussion.

As always, you can find us in most of the usual places (itunes, google play, spotify, etc). We also upload to youtube if that is more your thing (it's just the audio after first few episodes). Our main feed can be found at Podbean.

This week on the podcast we discuss In the Abyss, a 2e Planescape adventure by Skip Williams.

Welcome to the city Sigil Berk! In this module, the PCs will get a crash course in the wheelings and dealings of the City of Doors and it can serve as a good kick off adventure for a campaign that is transitioning to a Planescape based one. The set up is basic, as the PCs are hired by a member of an interplanar insurance company (a disguised pit fiend, but don't hold that against him) to recover a grand planar airship that has gone missing. Pretty standard stuff, except that the ship was last reported seen in the Abyss! Our intrepid adventures must secure travel to the demonic plane, brave its various dangers and temptations and board the missing ship. If they manage to overcome all these obstacles, a final challenge awaits, as the ship has a mind of its own and does not want to be recovered. Regardless of outcome, by then of this adventure the PCs will have become known to the various powers that be and will have a number of new friends, and enemies, going forward. All and all a fun ride, but have a listen for our more detailed discussion.

This week on the podcast we discuss Lord of the Iron Fortress, a D&D 3e adventure by Andy Collins.

The greatest smiths the world over are being murdered and more frightening yet, their spirits are failing to reach their final reward. This adventure starts with a mystery. Living forgemasters are dying and dead ones are going missing. The culprit turns out to me a trumped up half-dragon warlord with dreams of conquest. Imperagon's lair lies amid the floating cubes of the first layer of the plane of Archeon and within his iron fortress, he has his absconded smiths working to reforge a weapon of legend, the Blade of Fiery Might. Armed with such a powerful weapon he hopes to lead an invasion of the material plane and works tirelessly to forge alliances with other various villainous factions to join him in his conquest. At its core, the adventure is a pretty standard location based dungeon crawl. It's perfectly fine, but one would hope for something a bit more memorable from a high level adventure.
