Unless they play the exact same race, class, feats, skills, spells, etc., they are never going to be on even footing.

So...when point-buy advocates advocate point-buy they are just honestly giving their opinion, but when I advocate rolling it is just 'spouting propaganda'?
Same exact build and race, average of 25% difference between survival rate of the average high and low ability scores in the game is significant. I don't think a system that effectively guarantees that one character is significantly more effective at their role is a good thing. You do.
What more, simply arguing your side of things and why you like rolling is apparently "complaining" about point buy.
Well, that could work too - I mean, in both hockey and (soccer) football the substitute players are kept on the benches...I read that and thought it said 7 PCs plus a couple of benches
The evidence presented by the current state of the Seahawks' offensive line may beg to differ...There is a guarantee that everyone playing professional football is in the top 1% of all football players for their particular role.
Nope. Saying "I hate this thing about point buy" is complaining about point buy (which Arial did, and I called them on). Continually extolling the supposed virtues of one over the other propaganda.
Been GM'ing since 1978 - the relevance of which is that I have NEVER seen a poor stat array on a 'I rolled these stats while you weren't watching' character sheet.
I have seen a fair share of them while I HAVE been watching.
Apparently I have a local luck-dampening field that follows me around that brings all the fun of credible mathematical probability with it wherever I go...
