IPR SIGNS BEN LEHMAN OF TAO GAMES!
Debut game Polaris offered through IPR's new Retailer Outreach Progam
Indie Press Revolution (IPR) has signed Ben Lehman of TAO Games, the creator of Polaris: Chivalric Tragedy at Utmost North.
Polaris is a game set during the final years of the Northernmost People, just before the remnants of their civilization were swallowed up by their own Mistake. It uses a set of simple and easy-to-learn mechanics to get the storyline to an appropriate tragic ending. Each player at the table guides the protagonist in a different capacity, and the central points of the story are further shaped by the 12 Key Phrases.
Vincent Baker, the author of Kill Puppies for Satan and Dogs in the Vineyard calls Polaris: "Beautiful horror, emphasis on the beautiful, emphasis on the horror... It's really f**kin' cool."
A Polaris game may feature knights and demons in a struggle that revolves around the moon and stars. Chivalry and dialogue can play equal roles.
"To me, Polaris is poetic gaming at its best," says Brennan Taylor, CEO of IPR. "I think it really inspires a different kind of play than what you normally see out there."
Released at Gen Con 2005, Polaris is already a top-seller at IPR and requests from retailers have been pouring in. IPR recently announced that it will now accept orders from brick-and-mortar stores.
"We're very excited about offering Polaris and other great games, many not available anywhere else, to retailers," says Brennan. "It's going to be a strong alliance based on IPR offering a steady stream of unique, high-quality products that are proven sellers."
