I'm not asking whether or not D&D Kobolds actually have tails, but when you picture them in your mind, if you think they do. Or, if you think they should have tails or not.

Anyway, it's something of a long story, but when I wrote my review of Torn Asunder, I used a Kobold as an example. I rolled "Tail" on the location chart, but I didn't think Kobolds had tails. Because I just never thought they did.

But, I had also just run the Hamlet of Thumble module, which deals with Kobolds (which is why I used it for the example), and the pictures of the kobolds in there don't seem to have tails. At least, it's hard to tell, because they are wearing clothing.

So I never even thought about it until I read comments on my review at RPG Net, in which it was pointed out to me that Kobolds do have tails. And now that I look at the pictures in the 1e & 3e monster manuals, they do have tails.

But again, I never really thought they did. And last year I actually ran a Kobold character in a Dragonstar campaign. I never pictured him with a tail, either, and it actually never came up.

So, I was just curious if anyone else had ever thought Kobolds were tail free, or if it was just me.

Frell yeah, Kobolds have tails!

IMC and the one that I play in, Kobolds have somewhat prehensile tails, even.

My Kobold Sorcerer/Rogue Scred would be very, very, very unhappy without his tail.
