Inspired by a thread over in House Rules: How often does Low-Light vision (particularly in PCs, but also among monsters) actually come up as a significant factor in your games?

I've been playing 4E for a while now, and I can't think of a single time it's actually come up in play in my experience.

So I'm just wondering how common that is out there.

Cheers,

Sunrod > All.

My orcses hate them, it hurts their eyes. They cry at night, "Nerf the broken Sunrods!" :.-(

Coincidentally, in my game I have two versions of sunrods, the glow stick that gives illumination in 5 square radius for 10 minutes, and the the flare that gives light in 20 square radius until the end of your next turn.

Edit: And despite the house rule, I voted rarely, which is barely more than never.

I voted "never" because noone in our adventuring party has it.

Rest assured that as soon as my rogue can get it, he will, and it will then come up constantly.

Comes up frequently in both the games I'm in. Particularly my Druid. I have 21 Dex, Background, trained in Stealth, and +5 bonus to stealth while in Beast Form. I have low-light (thinking of grabbing Dark Vision via a feat), and I'm the party scout. I do this very, very well unless we're fighting something that has dark vision, I see them first.

I voted rarely, which basically means like, twice. One of the times it came up was in one of the darker sections of the KotS module, so I almost wouldn't even count that one since it's not a situation that a DM actually created.

For the most part though, it's not too much of an issue. We have a Kobold (darkvision, so not technically low-light vision) in each party that I play in, as well as ample chance to use things like Light, Everburning Torches or Sunrods. As such, light levels almost never get mentioned or used, and things like the Dragonborn feat that grants low-light vision (which I actually like the flavor of, if not the function) are nigh useless.
