[Polyhedron] FEAR...the start of a good minigame?

With the introduction of FEAR [a Cobra-like legion of would-be conquerers] in the new Polyhedron, the idea has already cropped up on these boards to do a followup featuring the good guys...presumbably an elite military unit with codenames, good-looking women, and ninjas.

[And good-looking woman ninjas with codenames.]

A further thought...this would make a darn fine minigame. Some appropriate advanced classes and such...some adventure hooks...some ideas on the genre ["the U.S. military vs. the Legion of Doom," to quote an old descripton of G.I.Joe].

I think it's a great idea.

To me, that GI Joe/Cobra feel has to approach the power level of superheroes, while still remaining mortal, normal human soldiers (at least for the "good" side).

What I think we need (to start out with) is a HERO or BRAVE (GI Joe ripoff) to Moridin's FEAR.

Advanced classes similar to what you'd see in Blood and Guts, but with a more over-the-top cartoon/comic book feel. Perhaps drawing (in terms of overall theme) more from Pulp Heroes than from any "real" military unit.

There's GI Joe, SHIELD, and probably a few others for us to draw on for inspiration...

The good guys have to be better than the best of the best...and they all need quickly identifiable quirks/accents/costumes. No uniforms in our unit!

I felt the same way when I saw it. The art and style reminded me a lot of some of the Mutants & Masterminds stuff.

I think FEAR has a lot of possibilities. Though when I read it one of the things that came to my mind were playing members of FEAR dealing with some of the Machiavellian style plots.

If you go for the GI Joe feel, all agents of FEAR need a -20 to hit all Good Guys, just like to grunts in Cobra.

And then you could crossover with Mecha Crusade ot get that G.I. Joe v. Transformers vibe going.

As soon as I saw it I thought more supers than modern. I plan on stealing the basic outline for inclusion in my next M&M campaign
