racial bonuses stacking is relevant to a dwarf getting +4 versus a poison spell. but it's only relevant to a dwarf polymorphed into a halfling - does he get +5 if you've established that he keeps his dwarf racial bonuses if polymorphed into a halfling

and the example in skip's part 3 suggests he probably doesn't

? Sorry, I'm not sure I follow. I agree with the first sentence, but then you backtrack in the second sentence and say its not relevant unless he turns into a halfling? huh? My point above was that the PHB says racial bonuses stack with each other (hence a dwarf getting +4 to saves vs spell/spell-like sourced poison, +2 from each racial ability) but the DMG says they don't (suggesting a dwarf should only get +2 in this circumstance).

As to the dwarf changing into a halfling, he'd get +1. He loses special qualities based on race when he polymorphs.
