Popular d20 Fantasy Campaigns -- UPDATED -- What's missing now?

Are you counting the campaign settings hosted here at ENWorld?

If so, you have (as far as fantasy goes):

• Daemonforge
• Umbragia
• Dusk

There there are the Middle Earth and Conan settings here... but these might not count depending upon how you are quantifying them.

Funny.. I was just motivated to start up an Excel spreadsheet where I placed all D20 campaign worlds in it, along with genre and average rating.. There were a few more than you have (don't have access to it at the moment) but I left out most of the historical books by Avalanche Press due to not being able to tell which ones were glorified historical adventure modules (kinda like a really poor man's Necropolis or Vault of Larin Karr - mini campaign worlds) and which were real campaign worlds.

Decided to do that based on another thread about whether the D20 market was saturated... Might add more fields like "Low/High magic", etc..

You've got Iron Kingdoms, but I should point out the the campaign setting isn't actually released yet. It still amazes me that it won the "best campaign setting" thingy at the Ennies, what a year and a half ago? Almost two years ago? And it's still not released.

Err, other than settings you missed, what was the question again?

Green Races -- Fast Forward Entertainment

Dungeon World is no longer available, so I think I'll skip it.

It's true that the Iron Kingdoms setting still isn't out. However, I'm going to leave it because, like Freeport, the adventures and other stuff that's out seems to more-or-less constitute a campaign setting, even if the details aren't too fleshed out.

Because there's so little available on Ptolus, I suspect it's best to pass on it for now. I'll certainly update the poll again after GenCon when some more of this stuff is released (Midnight's not quite out yet either, is it?).

Is there a 3e Dark Sun product or is it web-only? Where can I find it?

It seems like Diomin is safe to skip due to its apparent unpopularity.

I'll admit that I'm torn on unpublished (physically) settings, as I already have 26 and the results page is getting to be huge. However, there may be more people playing, say, Dusk than something like Green Races, so maybe I should add them. Other folks thoughts?

To be fair to the effort put forth by Diomin's creators, you had one post that said it wasn't worth including. That hardly qualifies as "apparent unpopularity." It won't hurt to add one line will it?

Valid point. It's a published d20 Fantasy Campaign Setting and fits all of the criteria I placed. Perhaps I should add Dungeon World, too, even though it's not available.

After GenCon you should certainly consider adding Diamond Throne.

It's the setting for Arcana Unearthed, and while it's not d20 it is designed to be d20 compatible.

Is "Swashbuckling Adventures" another name for 7th Sea?

7th Sea is a role-playing game in it's own right, set in the world of Théah. Swashbuckling Adventures is a book with rules for d20 swashbuckling adventures (go figure) that may or may not be set in the world of Théah.

I can certainly undertand and appreciate your hesitation. Considering that I do most of the writing for UMBRAGIA and all other work is done on a volunteer basis -- which, when combined, slows the speed in which we can release new product. Thus, in many ways, UMBRAGIA, although hosted by ENWorld, is really not much more than a fan-based work. Not including it would be well within the bounds of 'right' on that level.

From my own perspective, UMBRAGIA is as good as many you have listed (and better than some). DUSK is easilly as good as any you have listed up there (and has some elements I wish I had thought of for UMBRAGIA...) Daemonforge is good material and simply needs a designated, focused head of operations to get it going again...

So... that would be my thoughts on the subject.
