If one was to make a new spell called Positive Energy Ball, how would you determine it's effects...?
If you assume it's basic statistics were the same as Fire Ball then the only thing to determine is what it would damage or not damage.
If we assume that the intention was for an area effect attack that could be used against undead without endangering the living the what would be the effect on the living?
We know that Cure wounds spells are basicaly positive energy and inflict wound spells are Based on Negative Energy. We also know that these spells have opposite effects on undead.
So, if the spell delivers 1D6/Lvl to undead, would it also heal a like amount on living creatures caught in the burst. Or should it damage only and not heal. Or maybe it would Do 1D6/2Lvls damage and heal a like amount.
Should the effect varie based on where it is Arcane or Devine?
Should it even be possible for it to be Arcane?
Thoughts? If a character in your game wanted to Create such a spell, how would you determine the results/set the level?
