You know, the guy might just be selling the SRD of monsters.

If that's the case, AFAIK, he's perfectly able to compile and sell that.
In that case, it's false advertising since he's advertising it as the Monster Manual, and the MM includes a lot of material not in the SRD's (PI monsters like Illithid & Beholders & Artwork).

So, it's false advertising or copyright violations? Please choose the reason we should take this auction down? :)

Actually, don't email anyone or do anything. I'll get this to Ed Stark and have this taken care of. I hope he has a good lawyer... :]

Also, maybe one of the posters from Down under has the contact information for the consumer protection agency in the guys area?

Devil's Advocate...

Has WotC released it as a PDF, like they did with some of their other titles? If so, then isn't he within his rights to sell his copy of it, so long as he deletes it after sale, just like he would be entitled to if he were selling an actual paper-based book?

If it turns out to be legal, then I'll buy it - I like having PDF copies of my books.

I suppose you can re-sell PDFs in the same way as books; I'm sure no one would dream of retaining a copy afterwards.

Yeah, this seems a gray area at best. From one perspective, entirely copacetic. I'm inclined to give the consumer the benefit of the doubt.

He refers to it as the 'Dungeons and Dragons Monster Manual'. That's definitely a no no
