Possible ebay piracy?

All legal matters aside, how the hell is this moron going to get a 44mb file to most email inboxes?? I know my main inbox has a 3mb limit and I think the single-file limit on even a gmail account is like 7mb (though Im not positive about that one).

Lets say he scanned the book himself then burned his paperback, aren't he perfectly allowed to sell this PDF under the first sale doctrine?

And do you truly believe he did?

And if you do, can I interest you in purchasing a bridge, with a fine central urban location?

No. As I understand it (and I don't claim any great knowledge in this area) he's allowed to make a copy for backup purposes for his own personal use. It's illegal to sell or otherwise distribute any copies that he's made, no matter what happens to the original.

No one cares for the poor kid who's going to buy the fake?

Since no one has bought it yet, there's nothing we can do about that. Auctions can change hands seconds before they end. Besides, trying to get the auction closed down does protect potential rubes who would buy such a thing.

Or, you could look at it from this perspective: let the buyer beware.

That's what I meant, what can be done to stop people from being cheated into buying a fake? Even if you could email all the bidders, the highest bidder will still have to buy that crap, unless eBay invalidates the auction.
