Possible Epic PrC for an Alienist

sep what level would mostin have to be to summon the uvuudaum?

or the brain collector?

have you considered using some of the critters from Call of Cthulu for summoning purposes? Might be interesting to mix it up so it isn't always "Pseudonatural Rat", "Pseudonatural Unicorn", "Pseudonatural Dire Cow" etc...

An excellent suggestion tleilaxu!

So, what level would Mostin have to be to summon Azathoth?

I think I might be a little late for this now but never mind :D

Idea 1. How about the ability to power metamagic through creating uncontrollable pseudonatural bleed. (Like a defiler but instead of killing things everything goes a bit pseudonatural :p) or uncontrolled manifestation of psuedonatural entities.

Idea 2. Corrupting touch? (as a negative)

Idea 3. Pseudonatural body. The bodily structure of the alienist is unstable yet partially under the individual's control control. Represented by increasing ability to manifest psychometabolic psionic powers (a limited number of lower levels) on himself as spell-like abilities (discount healing) at the cost of sanity and/or hitpoints. :p
Possibly connect it with a decrease in physical stats.

Idea 4. Access to certain psionic feats.

Just some random thoughts :p

azathoth is probably going to always be outside of mostin's range but he could conceivably summon a Shoggoth at some point (CR: 21)

there are a lot of critters around CR10 like flying polyps, servitors of the outer gods, etc...

there is also a really nice section about insanity in the CoC book.

One idea that occured to me and might be good for a lvl 10+ special ability would be giving Mostin a alternate Pseudonatrual form, with the usual Cthulhu insanity inducing characteristics and some form of the Epic Pseudonatural template, that he could swtich freely into, but if he takes too much damage or becomes enraged somehow he would transform into his alternate form. Most Cthulhu-oid monstrosities that take human form, have it as being only "Skin" deep.

Perhaps you could tie this form into his bonuses/penalties for summoning as well?

This could make him extremely tough in the right situations, but has the disadvantage of potentially being nearly as much of a hazard to his party members as to any foes.
