Possible Firefly RPG

FYI Over on OgreCave.com they cut-n-pasted a post from the serenitymove.com message boards by Jamie Chambers who happens to be the VP of Margeret Weis Productions.

The post was requesting playtesters for a project that they are working on and he implied pretty strongly that it was Firefly related or at least Firefly "like".

Well, I'm pissed.

I'd have killed to be on the design team for the Firefly game.

That said, I'm thrilled that it's coming out, and I'll be preordering it.

Ari, you could always fire off an eMail to Margaret & Co. Who knows how far along this thing is, at this point things may still be far from finalized.

I don't knoiw, I figure its going to be like Firefly, but not enough to really do the show justice, but too much like it to be useful. Call me pessemistic.

Yeah that is definitely a concern. They didn't specifically say that were doing a licensed Firefly RPG, only that fans of the show would "like" it.

Time will tell.

Regardless, a non-firefly space western if done right is still pretty cool.

I did not know that.

That being the case I can see Margaret doing a Firefly inspired RPG just because she loved the show just as easily as I can see an actual licensed game.

I can't imagine that the licensing would be a simple affair. With Joss, Fox & Universal Studios all involved I am sure it is quite the tangled web.

That post was dated November 4, so I'd say there's still plenty of time to respond (most of the responses on the board so far are- "I'd love to help, but I don't have the time...")

Might as well give it a shot.
