Post-Apocalyptic Fiction?

I'm looking for some recommendations on post-apocalyptic fiction. I've read the Dark Tower (which is and isn't post-apocalyptic), but that's it! Bonus points for books that are still in print.

I don't really care about the type of apocalypse: nuclear, viral, aliens, whatever. It's all good.

Thanks!

IMO, the best is Earth Abides by George R. Stewart with A Canticle for Leibowitz by Walter M. Miller Jr. a close second. Both are low key, few or no mutants, and are more an examination of what life is like after.

A great gaming source, now inexpensive, is GURPS Y2K, which covers all kinds of disasters and the aftermath.

Cormac McCarthy's "The Road" is a survival story about a man and his son as they move through a post-apocalyptic landscape.

Of course if you're reading it out in public, others will think that you watch Oprah Winfrey because she picked the book last month!

Horse Clan by Robert Adams
Heiro Journey by Sterling E. Lanier (other books too)
Star Man's Son by Andre Norton
Hawkmoon by Moorcock (fantasy & tech)

Time Storm by Gordon R. Dickson. Earth is beset by moving dustwalls, fragmenting the world into different eras. Only a few creatures, humans included, seem able to freely move through the walls without being swept away into a different period in Earth's history.

Ah yes, I've read The Stand (the unabridged version at that) also.

Gotten some good picks. I ordered The Road and A Canticle for Leibowitz on Amazon. I'll check out the rest as time/money permits.

I like reading end of the world books. I tend to go through them like candy...all types. Here's a couple I've read recently.

Swan Song by Robert McCammon is very King like (and King-lite) but a pretty good read.
There's the first couple books in the Legacy of the Aldentata series by John Ringo
(Hymn before Battle, and Gust Front), but after that, it's not so post-apocalyptic. It's more military oriented, so there's not so much about Society's changes. It's fun gun-porn and a fast read. I liked it, but only for the gun-porn and Bun-Bun.
On the more teen side of things, there is Life As We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfiffer, which is from the POV of a 15 year girl as a comet hits the moon and knocks the world askew. It's also a good read, but its a very personal-type book. Very much teen fiction.
There's also Spin, by Robert Charles Wilson, which was up for a Hugo recently. A REALLY good book.
