This is my first post here and I'm happy to say I am going to give 4E a shot. To be honest I was one of the people so dead set against the new edition. I hated the fact that after I spent so many thousands of $ on my game they were going to change it to the point that all that $ and all my books were useless. I was angry at being "IMHO at the time" tossed aside like old newspaper for the idea that they might get more new blood. So I did not move on to 3,0 or 3.5. Actually because of this feeling of Betrayal"real or not" I stopped playing D&D all together. At first I went on to other games like Hackmaster,Gurps,Hero. then I left the hobby all together and took my gaming online with MMORPG's. Now its been years since I last rolled a d20. Most of my RPG stuff didnt make the test of time. A move that went bad. A small fire. Life just sort of took it all away when I wasnt looking. Heck even a few months ago my KOTDT Sub ran out and I didnt renew it. Then out of the blue my main computer crashed. No more MMORPG for a while and something strange happened. I didnt go through withdrawls. I didnt miss it at all. I realized that somewhere along the way I settled for MMORPG's but I was never really happy with them. Then while I was surfing I found this site! I read a new edition to D&D was on the way and suddenly I was reading about it none stop. It sounded great! Sure it wasnt my old game but thats ok I'm not too old to learn how to have fun with some new tools. I talked with the wife and now we are both reading and talking and I can feel that old DMing feeling coming back. The only issue I have is its so far away! I guess I might go pick up a copy of 3.5 main books and a adventure or two to tide us over. I want to game!
