Dead Can Dance: Also very medieval/middle-eastern influenced, with more of an alternative music vibe. Lisa Gerrard was also involved in the soundtrack to Gladiator, she sang several pieces for that, I think.

Lisa Gerrard: as a solo artist, she does more soundtrack kinds of work, similar in style to her Dead Can Dance work.
Seconded. Or thirded. Or something.

Did you mean the 9th Gate with Johnny Depp?

"The 13th Warrior" soundtrack is a good one (speaking of 13th stuff).

Also, "Chronicles of Riddick", "Advent Rising" and "Hellboy" scores are all good.

Typically, it's my iTunes just set to random. When I select music to play, it tends to be Coil, Skinny Puppy, or Death in June for mood music going into Laibach, Hocico, or power noise for combat. Of course, we mostly only play V:tM at my house.

I'd recommend going with mood music that reminds you of something you like that involves the game you're running... it will suck you into the game more, and when you're sucked into the game more, so too will your players be.

Just go with what you like. If it works for your players too, all the better... just don't play stuff that will drag them out of the game.
