I had hoped to do something similiar to a daily comicstrip here on En World however I can't seem to post it.

Some of these problems are related to my internet. Modem with old phone lines. But I would think there are things I can do to improve this.


What format (Jpeg etc) is the most friendly for pictures and words?

What else can be done to improve my chances to post images regularly?



Keep in mind- I am somewhat computer illiterate. Go on easy on me with terms.

It depends what you mean by "can't seem to post it". What problem, specifically are you experiencing?

It takes a very long time to load from my computer to your file management window. Then even a small (4x8in BW image) often is listed as too big. Jpeg and I believe I went as low as a 60 resolution.

I think you need to find somewhere else to host it and then post it using the IMG tags instead of attaching it.

Enworld attachment sizes are limited due to the large volume of users and limited amount of HD space on the server.

some place that lets you host images like Imageshack, Kodak, Yahoo, or other sites will probably work better, and then use the img tags to show the image here.

{img}http://website/image.jpg{/img}

replace {} with [], and use the correct url, and you're gold

As Bront says, it's just a forum tag that allows you to display an image, thus:

{img}http://www.yoururl.com/yourimagename.jpg{/img}

Just change the {} to []. So the above will display an actual image, rather than a link (and neither will the image itself be a link - to achieve that, just wrap the img tag inside a url tag).
