D&D 5E PotA: Dead Rocks

In Princes of the Apocalypse, on the Sighing Valley map, there is an entry for Dead Rocks, te description seems to indicate this is where the bodies from the air cult's sacrifices land when they throw them off the spire. But, it also seems somewhat contradicted by the description on the Pinnacle that says the bodies are soon removed. Plus, on the map, the Dead Rocks are ~750 ft from the tower. Too far for a throw. Does anyone know if anything official has been said about this? What have others done?

I liked the idea of the bodies being there for the giant vultures and other scavengers to feed on so left them there.

**SPOILERS***

IMC, during the the manticore hunt, the party managed to slay the beast just above Dead Rocks. When they flew down to inspect the creature's corpse, they incidentally discovered the decomposing bodies among the rocks by torch light. Made for a creepy scene and a nice, tense "victory" dinner afterwards, with the party unsure if they were sharing bread with a friend or foe.

I flat out told my players that there were weird discrepancies in the maps and that they would have to just kind of go with it

Thanks all.

I'm thinking I'm going to approach the Sighing Valley map as an 'artistic rendering' rather than a cartographic map. Kind of like a ski resort trail map :) Important things are over sized and there fore the scale doesn't strictly apply.

I'm just disappointed as I go through the module preparing it for play. There are just SO many inconsistencies and flat out mistakes. I would expect (and accept) that from a sole-proprietor independent, not from a major gaming company.

now I wish I would have run the Feathergale Spire as a ski resort
