Potential for new Character Builder

Before becoming enthusiastic about the damn thing's potential, I'll need to be able to successfully complete at least one PC...

Things work well enough until it's time to select powers and then nothing loads. I see a nice 'Select Powers' headline with no options under it. Super.

I've seen a similar issue reported due to the OS region/language not being set to US English. That's definitely a bug, but changing it has reportedly made powers available to some.

That being said, I haven't quite been able to complete a PC just the way I want it when the power selection does work- but it's a bit closer than the old CB. If they get Dark Sun inherent bonuses working, I'd have at least one of my chars working properly. ^_^;

This reminds of a suspected cause for why Dungeons & Dragons Roleplaying Game Official Home Page does not load for some people (like me).

The idea that it might just be the problem that en-US uses "." as decimal point and other locales (say, de-DE) use "," ... well, it's possible.

I remember that in the app i was working on, my first work-around for this was manually switching locales before reading or writing XML. I suspect there are better ways (say, explicitely setting the locale on the XML document? Not sure if that fixes things or not).

Or maybe it's something else entirely.

The biggest potential I see is integrating all the tools with the announcted gametable. If they don't do that... Well, then it seems I don't really get more out of it then I did get out fo the desktop apps.
