Potential issue with overlapping DR

So, an Abyssal Sorcerer grants DR (1/2 level)/good to summoned creatures. Suppose they summon a creature with DR x/evil. It would be very difficult to avoid DR entirely unless faced by a character with Penetrating Strike.

1) This is pretty fierce. 2) It seems to perversely incentivize Abyssal sorcerers to summon angelic creatures.

Paladins and Clerics should be fine with that DR type, too.

I don't think it's possible for a Cleric, other than a neutral cleric, to overcome both Good and Evil DR.

Well, I do not think that any cleric by itself can overcome both (you cannot align an already aligned weapon), but you can try to convince your GM to get 20th level scroll with Greater Magic Weapon (+5 weapons bypass alignment DR requirement).

Yes, it's a pretty nice boost to summoned creatures.

Actually, the Greater Magic Weapon spell can't bypass any DR other than Magic. I guess they saw that one coming, and decided to head it off at the pass.

Read the rest of the Bloodline power.

Bloodline Arcana: Whenever you cast a spell of the summoning subschool, the creatures summoned gain DR/good equal to 1/2 your sorcerer level (minimum 1). This does not stack with any DR the creature might have.

ps. It is in both the original 'single' file and the updated 'single' file.

Ok, I reread the whole thing, and I did not discover anything new since the first time I read the whole thing. Feel free to break it down using small words for me.

No one thinks they stack. The problem is the overlap, you've basically granted creatures unbeatable DR presumably unintentionally on the part of the game designers. It is nearly impossible to have a both good AND evil attack. In my games, I've long disallowed such things from even being possible. A simple fix is not allowing non-evil creatures (or good creatures, if you want to be more generous) from gaining the bloodline benefit.

I read stack as they do not get any other DR if they already have one. YMMV. I think Jason needs to put a FAQ out.
