thats what i thought but to him it was since it was going to be a minotaur half dragon barbarin i dont get what the big deal was

Can YOU think of no reasons why a DM may not want a minotaur, who is also a (half) dragon, who can also rage, to be in his game with the (guessing/approximating) human fighter, elven ranger, halfling rogue and (insert generic race here) wizard?

Maybe he doesn't want a creature with a 40 strength tearing through the mobs of enemies he has employed. Perhaps his distaste comes from wanting to use dragons in the game in the future. Maybe he wants to employ a labyrinth and minotaur which comes to stump and astound the group.
As you have said, your character can single-handed burst through enemy lines and save the party. Maybe he doesn't want one character showing up an entire group. Maybe he thinks that allowing a character like this, that does show up the entire party, will invite other members of the party to make equally impossible or strange things just be on the same level which in turn forces him to up the challenge and everything grows by leaps because one person wanted a superior character and the DM allowed it.
Just guessing.

Except - and here's the thing - it won't.

Once again, that's not the point either. His character is built to do it. The fact it was built poorly isn't the primary concern.

If he tried to bring in a wizard which could, as a full round action, literally end the world and the DM stopped it would he still post it here complaining?

So the issue isn't with the character breaking the game, it's with the player trying to make a character that breaks the game?

No.

The issue is the killer of light has a problem with his DM not allowing something strong and feels this is unreasonable. I merely propose that the DM would feel this way with anything that he feels is strong. In fact the ability or feeling of it being strong is more important that what it gets away with should it be allowed.

I know this from experience while DMing that I don't want players stepping within a stones throw of broken and stop them before they get there.
"Hey DM, I want to play a super kickass ranger who does 80d8 damage...."
"No."
It fits for all problems, not solely race. I can only guess that the DM disallowed this race because he foresaw a problem and once again I'm guessing he would disallow anything he saw to be such a problem.

Could be all sorts of reasons as to why the OP can't play the original toon he wanted. I'd say ask the DM specifically why I can't play this. He has his reasons and most DMs will give them.

Did the OP try this approach of just asking his DM why he can't play his 4 legged rage monster?

what do you mean by breaks the game im confused
When someone here says something is broken, it means that it is so powerful that whatever plan a DM might have, the player could ruin. Regardless of if your build in fact can break the game, the DM might not like it because it does not fit in the DM's idea of the world.

i have in mind a doppler ganger half dragon rogue
If your DM dislikes monster races, a Doppleganger might get refused as much as a minotaur.

Before any of us comment on your race+template+class ideas any further, why don't you help us understand what you imagine your character doing and being good at?

Also, what books and materials does your DM approve of the use of?

If you are actually asking us for build help (which is not what your original post was asking, but we'd be glad to do anyway), we can help. If you just wanted the answer to why your DM dislikes monster races, you're going to have to ask your DM.
