Power2ool Adds Copy/Paste Support!

For those of you who haven't checked it out yet, Power2ool is a free program which lets you build D&D 4E monsters, items, and powers. It has compendium integration; it lets you pull monsters out of the compendium and then edit their entire entry, changing them as much or as little as you like. It's served me well as an encounter and monster builder.

One of the biggest criticisms leveled at the tool is the lack of an ability to duplicate monsters, or to move them between encounters. No longer! The latest update added both functionalities. So for those of you who have been waiting... the wait is over.

Despite not having all its features implemented, it's still a very cool tool. The WotC devs could learn a lot from this guy.

I am thinking about slamming my head into my desk right now.

I love Power2ool and used it to create the monster cards for my first two adventures. My third adventure has been ready to go for a while, but I was dragging my feet on creating the monster cards in the hope that this function would come.

Finally, I couldn't wait any longer. I spent about six hours on Sunday setting up the monster cards for my adventure. Since the adventure can be run at level 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10, I had to create five cards for each monster.

Being able to copy and paste would have saved me a lot of time. Yes, I could copy and paste the powers block, which I did, but copying everything would have been lovely.

Why couldn't I have waited one more day?

In any case, this is awesome news. Yay Power2ool!
