Inside this 21-page PDF you will find rules for “supplementary spell components.” These are components that can enhance already existing spells or, at times, provide strange side-effects to spells your caster thinks he knows.

Players of arcane spellcasters and gamemasters will find the contents of this PDF open a new realm of magic. With a cover provided by Larry Elmore (www.larryelmore.com) and two versions of the book provided (one letter-sized and one A4-sized) this PDF is both attractive and functional.

All of the text in this product is presented as open game content.

Available now at my website (address below) or RPGNow. $3.00.

Phil, if I may be so bold,

Your quantity and quality of output has been impressive (these past, what, four weeks?) to say the least!

Thanks.

Having gone from being Creative Director working 50-60 hour weeks at Steve Jackson Games to my new position (Director of Special Projects for the same company) working 30 hours a week has allowed me to spend time on my own projects.

It's not that I've suddenly started working but, rather, that I've started working for myself.

I'm now free to transfer a lot of my energy into ideas I've had stored in my head.

The fact that people are noticing what I'm doing (and enjoying the different PDFs) is more rewarding than spending my time on licensing deals or overseeing projects that others get to do all of the fun work on.

Any advice as to translating all those notes into an actual product, I've got lots of psionics notes all over the place and would love to take a shot at making a book, but I'm not exactly sure how to get from point A to point B.

?????????????

Huh?

I've really missed something.

Can you expand upon that please? Perhaps give an example.

Sure. The following component may be used with [Fire] spells.

4. Fire Flower
Description: The Fire Flower grows along the banks of the eastern ocean. It’s a large, crimson-colored flower that is quite common in that area of the world. The flower must be freshly picked (no more than 30 minutes) or magically preserved to function as a supplementary spell component.
Effect: A spellcaster who uses this component with any spell that causes damage has that damage increased by 2 points per level of the caster (maximum 20 points). The effect of this spell component may be combined with other components or damage modifiers.
Casting Time Modifier: None.
Knowledge (Arcane) DC: 18.
Weight: >1 lb.
Value: None (locally), 35 gp (outside of the area it grows naturally).
