Alternate Realities Publications Adds Staff

Alternate Realities Publications is happy to announce the addition of its first staff member, David Sinclair, hired as the company's press manager. A former fanboy of our flagship product line, Mr. Sinclair will be responsible for online distribution of our press releases for all our product lines, as well as assembly of press packages and advertising.

About Alternate Realities Publications
Founded in 1992, Alternate Realities Publications was established as a future comic book publisher focusing on manga-styled titles. By 1995, the company had switched gears to become an RPG publisher, starting with the World of Barador, an anime-styled roleplaying game capable of simulating the mechanics of almost any CRPG on the market at the time. After several years in hiatus, the company returned to the RPG market in 2003, with the introduction of their critically acclaimed RPG supplement series, Big Bang: The Mostly Illustrated RPG Guide to Modern Weapons. The company also produces a number of additional product lines, including 1/60 or 30mm scale paper models, experimental projects for a number of licensed game systems, and Lost Destinations, a product series dedicated to telling the strange tales of the modern world while presenting them for game use.

ARP Publishes a Third Basic Hero

Alternate Realities Publications recently released in PDF format the Action Hero. The Action Hero is a basic class focusing on the cinematic feats one typically sees in action movies, presenting those capabilities as talent trees. Joining the Mystic Hero and the Psychic Hero, the Action Hero is the third new basic class we have released. Rather than focusing on an ability score, these three alternative basic classes instead focus on an integral aspect of the game system or genre which are ignored in the six existing basic classes in the core rules. These and other classes we have released in PDF format will be made available in print later this year, as a part of a new book, Modern Kyuujinjouhoushi.

Description: Big Bang details numerous families of weapons, providing game stats for more than 100 weapons in four different game systems. Big Bang differs from other weapon compendiums by presenting such extensive historical and technical details for each weapon that the books are of interest to gun and history afficionadoes as well as regular gamers. Even if stats for your favorite game system are not present, the book presents all the necessary real world data to allow you to generate stats for virtually any game system quickly and easily. Some reviewers have even gone as far as calling it "the roleplaying game equivalent of a Jane's guide to guns". An ongoing series, the eventual goal is to cover virtually every weapon manufactured since 1840, including not only firearms, but also military support weapons like rocket launchers, grenades, field guns, and more.

I could be wrong, but I believe HE was a casualty of the DTRPG/DRM debate bannings a few weeks back. Thus Mr. Sinclair's presence for ARP's press releases and announcements.

Actually, HE merely brought you various announcements, rather than structured press releases. He hasn't been around since, in his words, he "wasn't able to kiss as much ass as the other people banned in the DRM nonsense and get his own account unbanned". He has been rather annoyed by this and has been sorely tempted to simply circumvent the ban in the same fashion Cergorach did by just setting up extra accounts.

However, people who frequent the same other boards as he would have also noticed he has been quiet everywhere. He's been busy working on A LOT of new content, including several more volumes of my favorite, Big Bang, plus several volumes of Lost Destinations, a d20 modern class book, and a new cyberpunk genre RPG. On top of that, he has been pushing to get Big Bang into print at long last, and has even gone so far as to work out a deal to get collection slipcases for Big Bang done (these will be sweet, made of etched, burnished and polished aluminum, but rather expensive).

I myself will soon be a busy body as well. Once the first three volumes of Big Bang are in print, I'll have to start pushing them on distributors so the company can eventually start getting them into stores. As it is, I've got at least two more press releases to write in the next week as well.

Erm... Whoops, the name Dana still has the mental label of female, don't know why, but it has.

He has been rather annoyed by this and has been sorely tempted to simply circumvent the ban in the same fashion Cergorach did by just setting up extra accounts.
I did that, it got me banned again and i had to deal with a very pissed mod because of it. In all i got banned for about a week or so. I wouldn't advise you to circumvent the ban by creating another account, that might really piss off a mod and might get your ip range banned and that ould mean you couldn't even view this site...

Dana Carvey was a comedian who got his start on Saturday Night Live in the late 80's/early 90's. He's best known for his impersonations of the first president bush. He quit the show, tried to get on the big screen, and after a bunch of flops, returned to TV in a couple series that flopped almost as fact as his movies.

Anyway, for those interested, Big Bang Volume 1 is now in stock at rpgmall. Refer to the first post for the link.
