I'll add another bullet point :)

We've got rules on using a wide variety (and I do mean wide) of components, from common to extremely rare, to make magic items. Its an additional layer of adventure and roleplaying GMs can use to add some fun to player-made items.

Want to add the flaming attribute to a sword? Gather up some thoqqua blood and salamander tongues. Want a cloak of displacement? Find and slay some adult displacer beats. Want to add some kick-butt force damage to your hammer? Steal a kyton's chain. More powerful components, though, might come with drawbacks to balance them out.

It's pretty flexible, so GMs can tailor it to the magic level in their games.

You'll like it:)

That is really cool to hear about. I was wondering when someone would tackle these issues and make the wonder of making and using magic items more than just 'how much gold and how much xp do I want to use' kinda thing, ya know what I mean?

I especially love the rules for gem items and socketed gems, since I have a campaign world in which all magic items are socketed, but since there are no rules for it, until when this book comes out, and since I am so busy with school and things I didn't have any real time spending on creating something like this, so thank you very much for doing this. To bad it isn't coming out earlier. Oh well, its well worth the wait.

Curtis is the main man on this book and I appreciate him answering all of these questions. Once we get a final draft, which will be within the next month, I promise to post a page or two to give you an idea as to what this product actually contains. To the best of my knowledge, this is one of the first products to say "the rules as they stand are broken and we are going to give you another option." I may be wrong here, but I am excited about getting this one out to the public. And yes, we have been working on this for about a year. So if you are concerned about the technical aspects of it, the book has been and is being looked over litterly hundreds of times. It is going to be good.
