Ah... okay. You were one of the d20Weekly playtesters. The input you folks gave us was invaluable. Serious revision was made to stuff like various wood densities, damage to bows, and adding things to bridge many different house rules styles of combat. I think you will all be proud of how your input helped improve this product.

As for whether we'll use you folks as playtesters again, I can't speak for the company as a whole, but I know that we've got more source books in the offing, and some of those will likely need outside examination. I'll talk with the Head Monkeys about pushing more stuff your way.

You're welcome. You'll find as time goes by that the folks at d20 Weekly are an insightful, reliable bunch by and large. In my case, even if you don't post new files to d20 Weekly I'm ready to provide feedback etc. on any thing you send my way.

I do have one warning for you. As soon as you announce the release of your new sourcebook (and I've an okay from you), I will be incorporating the OGC into the ARD.

As someone who is admittedly hypersensitive about typos, are those TOCs reflective of the actual text?

I have to say that's an incredible amount of material to try to cover in a single book!

For fans of ancient weaponry, this article (Real Old Swords (or something like that)) is about the recent discovery of some old copper/arsenic alloy weapons, including some swords. Head on over and take a look at it.

TOC is for real

I have to say that's an incredible amount of material to try to cover in a single book!

Yes. Its a 352 page hardcover spanning the stone-age to the Renaissance. That is a lot of material. There are over 1000 items described as well. Wait till you see the index.

Progress Report

We received the Blue Lines yesterday from the printer and things are progressing nicely. From Stone to Steel is still on target to release at the end of April.

This is looking far better than I had even hoped -- and I had hoped for alot. A long time ago someone started a "what would your dream d20 product be" thread and I swear that this is pretty much exactly what I posted! How cool is that? Rules on equipment deterioration are just the clincher.

Me either. I wrote this book to be the resource I'd always wanted. I always tried to keep in mind the needs of the roleplayer, not just the GM but the player as well, and every thing I added was meant to emphasize that utility. If you like a rule, great. If not, you can still use the rest of the book. I didn't want to make any one thing a lynchpin, just in case that one aspect wasn't what a player wanted. The OGC in this book is staggering.

It's great news to hear we're still on for the end of April.

I just linked the From Stone to Steel page to the Index. Its fairly comprehensive at 14 page. I hope this gives folks a better idea of just what is coverred in this tome.

Well, the index has been out for a few days now, and it's definitely been downloaded quite a few times. We should be posting a teaser shortly, but I figured it might be a good idea to ask you folks what you'd like to see if you had a chance to look over, say, 4 contiguous pages from any place in the book.

What would you like to see? If we get enough response, it might well change what we eventually release as a teaser.
