JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – April 30th, 2002 – New Realms Publishing announced the company's opening today with the immediate release of The Gathering, a d20 system fantasy adventure module available in PDF format at RPGNOW for $5.
The Gathering details a small adventure site for low level characters and is designed to bring together a new group of adventurers. The Gathering also includes information on adapting the adventure site to suite most fantasy settings and additional source material to help GM's insert the module into an existing campaign.
New Realms Publishing was formed to develop and publish products based on the Realms of Althoria fantasy setting, which began as a setting for short stories by Walter Jones. The Realms of Althoria brand of products features adventure modules and sourcebooks designed to be easily inserted into an existing campaign setting or linked together to create a new world of fantasy adventure. The product brand also includes "The OnGoing Campaign Settings and Sagas," a series of story lines that establish a relationship between various RA products and provide Players and Game Masters alike with numerous options for future adventures.
"The Realms of Althoria is still a young setting," said Walter, "with vast areas still to be explored. I'm excited about the possibility that, for the first time, I'll be able to hear new stories set in the Realms of Althoria, and these will be told by fellow gamers."
Upcoming products from NRP include The Gathering: The Hall of Heroes, The Ruins of Kurnigan's Tower, and Eddings Cross. Eddings Cross will be available as a free download to those who purchase The Gathering or The Gathering: The Hall of Heroes.
