PrC: Master of The Blade

Shirt Guy John

First Post
The name might be misleading, so here's a brief discription:
-----------------------------------------------
The Master of the Blade has perfected the art of combat using the Heavy Recurved Blade(Look Below). He learns to fight using just this one weapon, and he learns to do it very, very well.

Short, I know, but I'm pressed for time.

I wanted a variant version of the Weapon Master PrC from S&F, because I didn't think that that PrC represented what I wanted to do with the class.

BAB: As fighter (1/1)
Saves: As Rogue (Reflex high)
HD: d8
Skills: 2 + Int. modifier per level
Balance, Climb, Intimidate, Jump, Listen, Move Silently, Spot,
Tumble.
Special:
1-Superior Weapon Focus, Style Restriction
2-Improved Dodge, Rapid Cut
3-Dodge Bonus +1
4-Improved Specialization
5-Deadly Blade +1
6-Dodge Bonus +2
7-Improved Critical
8-Improved Expertise
9-Dodge bonus +3
10-Deadly Blade +2

Superior Weapon Focus: Additional +1 when using Heavy
Recurved Blade
Style Restriction: When using shield or in armor other than light,
loses all abilities except superior weapon focus, improved
Critical, and Superior weapon specialization
Improved Dodge: Dodge bonus increases to +2 against the
chosen foe
Rapid Cut: Can make an additional attack at highest BAB but all
atacks suffer -2 (only in full attack action)
Dodge Bonus: Gains this dodge bonus to AC at all times
Improved Specialization: Additional +2 damage
Deadly Blade: Once per day, when a threat is rolled, the Blade
Master may choose to use this ability. If the threat proves to
be a critical hit, the critical multiplier for her heavy recurved
blade is increased by +1 (x2 to x3). If the threat does not
prove to be a full critical hit, the use is wasted for the day. At
tenth level the increase to critical multiplier increases to +2 (x2
to x4) but the ability is still only usable once per day.
Improved Critical: gains the feat or adds =2 to the crit range if
already has the feat
Improved Expertise: Adds +1 and a half for every -1 taken to
attack
==============================
Heavy Recurved Blade(Medium Exotic Melee)
Dm: 1d8 slashing
Crit: 18-20/x2
Weight: 5 lbs.
Cost: TBD

Requirement for PrC:
---------------------------
BAB +6
Focus, Specialization, Proficiency with Heavy recurved Blade, Dodge, Expertise

I think that's it. Suggestions? Questions?

[Edit: Fixed Deadly Blade, added Skills and HD]

Not bad. Yopu might want to have skill points and a HD for this class. If not, I'd say it's underpowered.

Does Improved Expertise work with the Feat Superior Expertise? So at the highest level and with Improved Critical feat they have crit 13-20/x4. That's a bit too good. Add Keen to that or Assassin Senses and it's really gets nasty.

Could you give me the specifics on Supreme Expertise. I havn't read that book, and don't quite know what it does. If it's similar, I'd rather replace "Improved Expertise" with gaining Supreme Expertise as a bonus feat at the same level. I tried to fix Deadly Blade. Skill selection seems sort of small, but it reflects what I think their options should be.

Supreme Expertise is like Expertise without the max of 5, but still limited to your BAB. So if you BAB is +9, you can take a -9 to all attacs and get +9 to AC.
