PrC suggestions for Monk/Bard?

Number47

First Post
I am just joining a new game. The character I am making up for it is a Human Ex-Monk 1/Bard 4. I know, it isn't a very powerful combination. But it does have flair! I am still playing around with feats and skills. The stats I have are 4, 10, 10, 16, 17, 17. Plus I can put in one point into something for fourth level. I was thinking of going with Str 5 / Dex 10 / Con 10 / Wis 17 / Int 16 / Chr 17. I am explaining the low strength for a monk by saying that he got his arms and legs broken a while back and this is how he healed.

I only have the core books myself, but might be willing to buy something if it was worth it for the character. Any suggestions on feats or skills? Remember that his first level feats are with the Monk class, not bard. More importantly, are there any good Prestige Classes I could aim toward?

Thanks, guys

Since you're putting all your good stats into mental attributes, and have a dismal Strength, you're obviously not going to be a melee combat character.

So, one way for a Bard to go is to focus on the magic aspect. The first two that come to mind are the Song Mage, in Book of Eldritch Might II, and the Sonomancer, in Ultimate Prestige Classes. The two are pretty similar, and you advance in Bard spellcasting with some abilities focusing on sound.

Another way to go is to focus on social skills and enchantments. The Diplomancer, also from BoEM2, and the Spellbinder, from Path of Magic, come to mind. If your group has any of these books, you might want to take a look and check them out.

Also, you could boost that poor stat through racial adjustments. You could be a Dwarf or Gnome with a Con of 7, Elf or Halfling with a Dex of 7, or Half-Orc with Str 7. Just something to think about.
