Don’t underestimate my power, I might spend more time in my books then other people but I can still kill you just as fast. If not faster.
Arcane Adept saying.

Every one knows that the Archmage’s have power. What of thos that don’t flash it out every place but go for the same goal. To master the art of magic. While thous that are archmages learn how to change spells fast to get what they want. The arcane adepts learn to change spells slowly and they usly get the same resalts just with one spell and not all of them at once. Now the fact that there not as common as archmages does not say they are weeker it just shows that not many people knowthey are there that’s all
There methodes seam odd and too slow for many wizards as they slowly look and relook at spells to see how they are put togther and how to make them better. Now they learn lots of metamagic to help um out as each featgives a better clewinto how some spells came to be. Now they usly find a trick that can help them on other spells as well. By adding a tiny extra amount of magic energy to a spell (like how they do to other spells as well) they can do more damage with out lots of work in the long run.
Hit Die: d4

Requirements
To qualify to become a Arcane Adept (Ard), the character must fulfill all of the following criteria.
Skills: Spellcraft 8 ranks, Knowledge (arcana) 8 ranks.
Feats: Any two metamagic feats, Spell Focus (in any school of magic), and Skill Focus (Knowledge [arcana])
Spellcasting: Ability to cast 3rd level arcane spells

Class Skills
The Arcane Adept’s class skills (and the Key ability for each skill) are Concentration (Con), Craft (Int), Decipher Script (Int), Knowledge (arcana) (Int), and Spellcraft (Int). See chapter 4: Skills in the Player’s handbook for skill descriptions.
Skill points at each level: 2 + int modifier.

Class Features
All of the following are class features for the Arcane Adept prestige class.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Arcane Adepts gain no additional proficiences in weapons or armor.

Spells per Day: An Arcane Adept continues training rigorously in arcane magic. Thus, when a new Arcane Adept level is gained, the character gains new spells per day as if he had also gained a level in an arcane spellcasting class ne belonged to before he added the prestige class. He does not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained (metamagic or item creation feats, and so on) except for an increased effectice level of spellcasting. Am Arcane Adept who had more than one arcane spellcasting class must decide to which class he adds the new level for purposes of spells per day.

Spell Thesis (Ex): Beginning at 1st level and again at 4th, 7th and 10th level, the progressive study and mastery of a spells various aspects start to show fruit. Each time an Arcane Adept gains this ability, he may apply a spell thesis to a spell from the list below. If any given thesis is taken multiple times, the bonuses increase by the base amount. For example, an Arcane Adept who wishes to take for the second time sees his bonus on Spell Save DC for the spell chosen go from +1 to +2.
Extra Damage Die: The Max dice cap for the spell goes up by one (Thus this ability can give you an 11d6 fireball for example).
Improved Spell DC: When you cast the spell its save DC is 1 higher.
Resest the spell: You gain a +1 bonus to saving throws vs. that spell.
Break SR: You gain a +1 bonus to caster level checks to overcome spell resistance with the chosen spell.

Improved Spell Acquisition: At each level of advancement in the arcane adept prestige class, a character gains three spells of his choice of any level she can cast to add to his spellbook.

Research bonus: At 2nd level an arcane adept gets a +2 bonus on Spellcraft rolls when researching new spells. At 5th level this bonus becomes +4 and at 8th level this bonus becomes +6.

New spell (Ex): At 3rd level and every three levels thereafter, the arcane adept may lean one new arcane spell of any level he can cast. If he uses a spellbook, he may scribe this spell into her spellbook at no cost. Otherwise, the spell is simply added to the arcane adept’s list of spells known. This spell knowledge is in addition to any he might gain from other sources.

How does it look ill be geting the epic progreshen up in time.

Interesting.. needs a little work, but it could be workable.

I would up the prereqs... make it so you have to be around 7th level to take it, if not a bit higher (maybe 9th?).

I assume that Improved Spell DC and Break SR stack with the feats that do the same thing?

Improved Spell Acquisition: At each level of advancement in the arcane adept prestige class, a character gains three spells of his choice of any level she can cast to add to his spellbook.

Seems to me like these two do basically the same thing. If you're gaining +1 level, you automatically gain two new spells every level, which makes both of these superfluous (though you could keep New Spell, since it's only 1/3 levels - kind of a bonus thing for all that research and such, but call it Improved Spell Acquisition).

What you need are more abilities like this; I personally hate PrCs that have two or three abilities and simply improve them over ten levels - that's just cheap, IMO. Give me a reason to take this class. You have a good start here; flesh it out a bit more.

Well thos two abilitys stack with each other so every three levels you get for spells not two or three (Research realy pays off ;)).

Its mostly this way right now for people where saying (and in some cases still saying (on RoE)) thats its to strong (even after I made some changes). Any ideas for abilitys to add at later levels?
