D&D 4E [Pre-4E] "The Shadow of Set" [Roster Set]

Cheers, I'll change my post.

Oops. I guess I should read the feat first. Not "1st level only", but it kinda should be (the one in Races of Destiny isn't anyway - maybe I am recalling the one in FRCS). Anyway, yes, you can take that one.

(Sound of Azure, the merchant connection would make it very easy for Droban and Isphet to meet one another. Isphet could even become Droban's new employer, if you'd be interested in that.)

That sounds great to me. :)

I believe the feat has the "Can only be taken at 1st level" line under Special. Anyhow, thanks!

Favored soul

I'd play Dwarf Keeper of Secret's favored soul. As I don't have complete divine, I'll try to find it on-line somewhere or I'll change it to straight priest.

I'd also like rune magic feat from races of stone (or is it quintessential dwarf? I'll look it up...)
Going for dwarven runecaster (if it's NOT in quintessential dwarf, i.e. if it's allowed) or warpriest.

Concept details soon (probably tomorrow afternoon).

I'm a little concerned about the lack of interest in this game. It could be that I've made the character creation rules too complex. Not sure.

In any event, if we don't have at least four submitted concepts by Friday, I'm going to cancel this and maybe try again later.

Looks like you're just missing an arcane caster so far. I'll jump in with:

Avardis - Champion of Muir
Human Battle Sorcerer 1

Avardis is a human follower of Muir. He aspired to be a Champion of the goddess (paladin) but in his youth it became apparent that his gifts led in another direction. Regardless, he considers himself one of Muir's holy warriors and hopes to one day be recognized as such.

Weapon: Bastard Sword (Battle sorcerer martial weapon proficiency)
Armor: Studded leather
Spells: Since the battle sorcerer gets only one 1st-level spell at 1st level, I'm really torn. I'd like the character to specialize in buffing and blasting, but I'm leaning toward Shield as my 1st-level spell and bash heads with my bastard sword. Eventually Avardis would like to multi-class into Paladin, and cast lots of Stilled spells while wearing heavy armor.

How will you do stat generation, by the way?

Asad the Silent, Human Monk of the Cobra Strike
Lawful Neutral follower of Horus, The Avenger.
Orphaned as a child by a caravan raid on the edge of the Blasted Desert, Asad was found by the reclusive monastic Order of the Blinding Sun. They named him and trained him in their combat style that takes advantage of swiftness and agility. When he was old enough, Asad left the order to search for the truth of his background, and to find his family's murderers.
Weapons-unarmed and kama
Major Skills-Tumble, Escape Artist, Move Silently and Balance
Feats-Endurance and Improved Initiative (and Dodge as his Monk bonus)
Expected Advancement-At the moment, I plan to stay with the monk progression, although if Dervish or Tattooed Monk from Complete Warrior become available, I might be convinced to switch. :)

**Edit--switched fighting style. I liked the flavor of the invisible eye, but not the feat/bonus ability tree. The cobra strike seems much more useful.

I wonder if changing the thread title might help? When you first posted this thread, I assumed you would be cobbling together your own version of 4th edition rules (presumably from preview materials, and maybe adapting the Star Wars SAGA system) to run the game. Only after I looked within, did I realize your true intent. Maybe I'm not the only one to misunderstand?

You might also get a bigger response as we get closer to the 31st. Some potential players might be either looking for games that start sooner, or be using the time to craft their characters, planning to post them a bit later on.
