Pre-Order A Magical Society: Ecology and Culture Now

"The screen version has a layout background to make it appear as if it is written on parchment. It is a dark background and at timers was a little tough to read."

Just to let others read what I said about it. It wasn't totally terrible. I have a habit of perfering to read the print versions of everything on the screen.

Any chance of making the background a whole bunch lighter? As it is, I can't imagine anyone using the background one for online reading *or* printing! [And based on the other comments, that doesn't seem to be just a quirk of my own monitor settings... Crothian commented on how hard it is to read in his ENworld review as well.]

The freebie is darker than the full PDF. We've taken peoples' advice and lightened the background for the full PDF. Also, the full PDF has a file with no background image at all (but all the art) for the people who really just prefer black on white. Hopefully, between the two files, everyone will find one they like to read on screen and the one they'd prefer to print.

Ah, that's good to know! Thanks a bunch. You may still want to add a note along those lines on RPGNow, or just lighten the freebie background as well.

Personally, it wouldn't be a selling (or non-selling) point for me. For a product with great content like this, I wouldn't mind buying a BW-only version. But I do know there's people out there who are a lot more picky about art and graphics in PDF products and rpg products in general...
