Precise Shot Feat

Hi,

Can someone confirm that you have to be within 30ft of the target to use the
Precise Shot Feat. If so, where is it stated? And if not, then we have been playing wrong for a while

No, you don't. I suspect what may have happened is someone has looked at the prerequisite feat - Point Blank Shot - and said "Well, if you're not within 30 feet, you can't use Point Blank Shot, so you don't qualify for Precise Shot."

But, when one considers that Point Blank Shot is also a prerequisite feat for Far Shot, the logic tends to collapse somewhat.

Similarly, a barbarian can make use of the Improved Trip feat while Raging, even though he can't use the prerequisite feat Combat Expertise.

As far as I am aware, I have never seen a range listed for precise shot.

PRECISE SHOT [GENERAL]
Prerequisite: Point Blank Shot.

Benefit: You can shoot or throw ranged weapons at an opponent engaged in melee without taking the standard –4 penalty on your attack roll.

Special: A fighter may select Precise Shot as one of his fighter bonus feats.

Someone may have been confused, since Point Blank Shot is a prerequisite, and PBS has a range of 30 feet...

So unless it is a house rule, Precise Shot has no maximum or minimum range beyond that of the weapon used.

Ditto, you do not need to be within 30ft to utilize precise shot.
You do for point blank shot and/or sneak attack though.
