nailed it...I predict a positive integer number of books, which will have themes, and include content both for GMs and for players.
Technically, I could still be proven wrong.nailed it...
Storm Kings Thunder was produced though the same year as Volo's Guide to Monsters, which has a section on... giants! Bigby is a larger amount of info, but there was some initial synergy as well. They did similar synergy with Xanathar and Dragon Heist, Fizban and Dragonlance, and Tasha and Witchlight. It's not much, and you could argue more can be done, but synergy was attempted.I want to see WotC actually get its act together with a coherent publishing strategy. Here's what I mean:
Storm King's Thunder = adventure about giants
Bigby's Glory of the Giants = supplement about giants
They were published 7 years apart.
Now hear me out. This might sound crazy. But what if they were published in the same year? Wouldn't that be both cool and useful...?
There is also something to be said for avoiding this level of thematic saturation in a given year.Storm Kings Thunder was produced though the same year as Volo's Guide to Monsters, which has a section on... giants! It also creates the illusion you need both books (supplement and module) to get the most out of them. There is also something to be said for avoiding this level of thematic saturation in a given year.
If you don’t like Giants, but the big adventure book and the big supplement are both giant themed, you’re basically taking the year off from buying D&D products, and WotC doesn’t want that.
