Preseason Colts Game During Gencon

Chaldfont

First Post
On Saturday at 7pm, the Colts will be hosting the Chicago Bears so downtown Indy will be really crowded--just like last year. Colts fans will be around as early as 4pm for a pre-game tailgate at the RCA Dome. Genconners might think about packing a sack dinner that day to avoid restaurant congestion.

It's also a good time to hit up one of the counter service/less elaborate restaurants downtown like Steak and Shake...

We waited for an hour to sit down at the Old Spaghetti Factory last year...the OSF was great...but as a general matter of course, I prefer to wait for a slightly shorter time for my food. ;)

It's also a good opportunity to take in a football game (granted it's only pre-season, but still...). We went to the game last year and we'll probably go again this year. It's a good way to kick back for a couple hours and definately a good time.

This might be a good game. The Bears made some good drafts and trades in the off-season and the Colts look to be Super Bowl contenders again. Could be quite entertaining.

Except that it's only the third (of five) preseason games for each team. The starters likely won't play past halftime (if even that long), and preseason games are usually much more about evaluating talent than they are about winning. Still, if you're a fan of either team, it could be fun.

Preseason games are a lot of fun. Coaches try out silly plays, just to do it. Cowher is famous for pulling trick plays in preseason.
